Terms of Use

1. Licence

ID Scanner is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (the standard EULA). The terms below add to it and do not replace it. ID Scanner is published by Mikail Yurt.

2. What ID Scanner does

ID Scanner reads the barcode on the back of a US or Canadian driver's licence or ID card on your phone, checks the age and the expiry date against the rules for the issuing state or province, and shows PASS, CHECK or DENY. It can also recognise a returning guest without keeping their name or ID number, as described in the Privacy Policy.

A result is a prompt for the person at the door, not a decision. The person checking IDs decides who comes in and remains responsible for following the laws that apply to your venue, including laws on checking IDs and on reading data from them. This app cannot guarantee that an ID is genuine. Always look at the card and the person.

3. Free use

Every phone gets 10 free scans that produce a result. The count does not reset. The list, Tonight, the night summary and demo mode stay free and do not expire.

4. Pro subscription

Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that gives unlimited scans on the phone that buys it.

• Period. Monthly or every 6 months. The exact price for your country is shown in the app before you buy.
• Free trial. The 6-month plan may start with a 7-day free trial when your Apple Account is eligible. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the first period is charged when it ends.
• Payment. Charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
• Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Cancelling. Manage or cancel any time in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or with Manage subscription in the app. Cancelling stops future charges; Pro stays active until the end of the paid period.
• Restoring. Pro is tied to your Apple Account and can be restored on your other devices with Restore.
• Refunds. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. Event Pass

The Event Pass is a one-time purchase that gives unlimited scans on the phone that buys it for 7 days from the moment of purchase. It ends on its own and does not renew. A pass and a subscription are separate: buying one does not shorten, pause or delay the other.

6. Team plans

A team plan is an auto-renewing subscription for one venue, bought by the venue owner, monthly or yearly. The owner signs in with Apple and creates the venue before buying. The renewal, cancelling and refund terms in section 4 apply.

• What it includes. Up to 10 phones of the venue share one list, see warnings from other doors and see Tonight for all doors. Every phone of the venue scans without limit while the plan is active.
• Offline. A phone that cannot reach our server keeps scanning without limit for up to 7 days after it last synced with the venue.
• When the plan ends. Syncing stops and no new phones can join; each phone returns to its free scans or its own Pro or Event Pass. Scanning on the phone keeps working. The venue's shared data is kept for 60 days, then deleted.
• Deleting the venue. The owner can delete the team venue in Settings; this removes its shared data and phones from our server. Deleting it does not cancel the subscription; cancel it in your App Store settings first.

7. Fair use

Use ID Scanner only to check IDs at a venue you run or work for. Do not use it to collect, copy or share data about people, to scan IDs without the holder's knowledge, or to bypass the free scan limit. We may suspend team venues that do so or that place an unreasonable load on the service.

8. Privacy

What is read, what stays on your phone and what the team feature sends to our server is described in the Privacy Policy.

9. No warranty and liability

ID Scanner is provided “as is”. It can fail to read a barcode, for example when a card is worn, dirty or badly lit, and some checks are not available for every state, province or card version. Team syncing can be late or unavailable when our server or your network is down. To the extent permitted by law, Mikail Yurt is not liable for decisions made at the door, for fines or losses connected to who was let in or refused, or for indirect damages. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.

10. Changes and contact

We may change these terms or the plans; changes are published on this page with a new effective date, and material changes to a paid plan apply from your next renewal. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without affecting mandatory consumer protections where you live. Contact: support@mikailyurt.com.
